Jane Clarkson, Spanish teacher and founder of Spanish at Home

Since 2024

Every plan begins with a professional assessment, not a guess.

About Jane

She didn't learn Spanish from a classroom. She learned it from a life.

"Fluency crept up on me somewhere between grocery runs and long dinners with neighbors. One day it just wasn't a foreign language anymore."

Jane spent over a decade living and working in Mexico, immersed in Spanish as her daily language rather than a subject she studied. That's where fluency actually took hold.

She started teaching in 2024, beginning every student with a professional assessment so they always know exactly where they stand. Every plan she builds comes from her own material, shaped around whoever's sitting across from her, whether that's a screen or a kitchen table.

Before teaching, Jane spent years as a lawyer and later ran programs for a nonprofit, work that took her across borders and taught her how to explain complicated things simply. That instinct, paired with more patience than most people have, is probably why her students stick around.
